Problem

Currently there are too many single car drivers on the road everyday, and riders and drivers need a more affordable and convenient solution for carpooling. Public transportation and apps such as Uber and Lyft offer similar transit opportunities, however they are expensive and inconvenient, respectively, for everyday use.

The application allows users to share car rides in an easy, efficient manner and will be designed mobile first for convenient usage in your current life. This will not only reduce the number of vehicles on the road, but will be mutually beneficial for both the driver and the rider, environmentally and economically.

From Design to Build

BeepBeep’s goal is to make finding a ride as easy as offering a ride, with the toggle button that lets you change between rider and driver mode simply in the same interface. To ensure this process was seamless, we created a hi-fidelity interactive prototype using Adobe XD and completed user feedback testing. Once the design phase was completed, we planned out our features and decided on our technologies. We developed BeepBeep with Laravel as the backend framework, in combination with Bootstrap, third party libraries, and various Google Maps API’s to design the front end of this completely responsive web application.
