User Interface Design
I was asked to complete the same task on 2 different applications, Uber Eats and SkipTheDishes, and review the order process for both services. Then, as a group it was our task to redesign the process based on pain points I experienced, and illustrated the revised user interactions.
Our solution was to revise the process of logging in on new devices or devices that haven’t remembered your information. This process can be very frustrating if you can’t remember your information immediately, which happens all too often these days, and may result in customers turning away. Unfortunately, often it is also easier to create a new profile than to recover information from your old account to gain access quickly.
UberEats and SkipTheDishes require you to input your phone number to register with their application, and therefore I believe that you should be able to login in with a verification from your mobile device. To facilitate this, we created the option to send a ‘magic link’ that allows the user to receive a text message containing a 4 digit code. They need to input this 4 digit code into the registration system of the application to verify account security before they proceed.
